Journal 5#: A Gift

I received this gift from my parents a few years ago ever since I was in middle school as a student. It is a multi-purpose computer. Today I still use it by adding some new components on it every year. I think it is the most important thing in my life. As a recreational device, it allows me to enjoy music or film and relax by playing games. It is not only an AV player or a game box but also an essential piece of study equipment in my life. To me, as a software engineering student of Shandong University, writing documents, designing a project plan or doing scientific calculation is my routine work. I also use it to log online. I can get some information concerning my thesis, I also can make friends with people from different places, we can send E-mail to each other, chat with each other. This gift changes me a lot; it gives me growing and shows my parents’ deep love. So I thanks to my parents.

Journal #4: My favorite sport

Whenever I face this question about my favorite sport, my answer is always the same: basketball. It has been with me for about seven years and I hope I can keep this habit as long as possible.
It is said that afternoon is the best time for exercise, so when I am available in the afternoon, I will put on my basketball shoes and clothes and go to the basketball square to play it. There are several reasons why I love basketball. First of all, it’s easy to do, unlike other sport which requires a lot to learn, basketball doesn’t demand much skill, generally speaking, people try their best to put the ball into the basket, which is enough. Second, I can make a lot of friends through this game, another way to say is that “no basketball, no friends.” Finally, basketball is really good exercise for mental relaxation, after playing for about 30 minutes, I will reach a point where all my troubles and pressure seem to disappear. When game’s over, physically I am a little tired, but psychologically I feel refreshed. So basketball means the “hope” to me.
All in all, basketball is not merely my favorite sport; it has become a significant part of my life.

Journal 3: Festival in different country

Two days ago, I enjoyed the passion of Halloween which brought extraordinary feeling. I have never met such an interesting festival before. But to my surprising, I was not so strange that I really liked this custom which only Halloween had. It is such a different custom that all Asian countries do not have because the festival of Halloween was come from British. That day evening, my friends and I went to downtown to attend a party of Halloween, I saw a variety of different “cosplay people” who worn strange costumes that it was really amazing, and it could not be seen in my country. Therefore I enjoyed a fantastic night.
