Yesterday is a clear day, my cousin and I went to Metrotown which is well-known in Burnaby, Metrotown movie centre, a famous place to enjoy movie from all over the world, not only provides a comfortable atmosphere, but also give me a opportunity to learn English. To my satisfaction, I found it is so benefit that I can make great progress in watching English movie. So we know, movies in my country only use translate language and if one movie uses original language, you also can see some translation sheets in the bottom. However, in Metrotown movie centre, all the movies are English original edition and no sheets everywhere, thus these movies give me such a good chance to learn English because with the story’s moving, I must listen clearly to follow the story, unconsciously, I get some progress in listening. All in all, I believe this is really a good idea to learn English, please trust me!

The man change my life

HOMEWORK: Activities 8
I would like to introduce my neighbor professor Wang, he has had the biggest influence on me and has lived next to me for about ten years. He is a little bit overweigh, has a pleasant face and wears a pair of big glasses, which makes him look very professional and knowledgeable.
Besides, professor Wang let me understand one thing, which has become my motto: never be a quitter. I used to visit him for some questions that puzzle me in school. I was blown down by the idea that I was a loser because I could not always figure out all the subjects. However, he kept telling me that I should face it optimistically. He got through a lot of hardships to become an accomplished professor, he never says “NO”. He also taught me to live a healthy lifestyle and that it can improve my memory.
In conclude, Wang changed me a lot and I guess what I have learned most from him is to maintain a positive towards life “never be a quitter, never say no” no matter what happens.

Journal 1: My life has changed

I have been here (Vancouver) for about two weeks, I had so many experiences in the two-week period that I have never met before. I was moved by the sight in UBC; I was attracted by the sea wind on the beach; I was intoxicated by the maple. Furthermore I found that so many things are different from my hometown, I will show you the differences I felt as follows:
At first, studying in school in my country is really different form in Vancouver. I think everyone only know how to learn knowledge in school, and such as homework, listening to the teacher and passing the exams are my school’s life when I studied as a child. However, students here can learn how to express their minds to their teacher and how to make a communication with each other. I believe this way is really useful to students so that they can learn sharing their thinking to each other and working in a team, thus, they can make a great progress in the future. For instance, learning English in school in Vancouver can bring more happiness than in Chinese school, because activities are very common in Vancouver, but in China, it is a dream to students because of the large population.
Moreover, government in Canada is also contrasted with in China. Government put more emphasis on public equipments in Canada than in China, such as public football ground and park. I think China should put more investment on welfare such as public equipments in the future in order that people can feel more comfortable than before.
In conclude, I realized that living in Vancouver is suitable to me and I like to live here, I hope maybe one day there will be a great change in my hometown where the same as Vancouver.
